Dr. Richard E. Matteson, founder of Hope for Grieving Children - Africa, is a United Methodist Minister and a Clinical Psychologist. He is in private practice emphasizing couples and family therapy, grief therapy, and men's issues. He also provides guidance in career and life planning and the job search. He sees many adolescents and young adults. His practice in Illinois is located at 414 S. Oak Park Avenue, Oak Park, Il 60302 Suite 4. In Michigan his practice is located at 6191 Standing Stone Drive, Holland, MI 49423. He has taught as visiting lecturer at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Northern Illinois University, Northeastern Illinois University, the College of DuPage, the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Clarke Theological College in India, and Jembo College in Zambia. He designed and conducted the workshops that are currently being offered through Hope for Grieving Children - Africa.

Previously a Board Member of the Center for Ethics and Corporate Policy from 1992-1993 and an Elder of Grace Lutheran Church from 1993-1997. President of Heritage Property Group, Inc. a commercial real estate development and investment company. Graduated from NIU with MBA in 1973 and B.S. in Chemistry 1971. Member, Grace Lutheran Church, River Forest (1983-present). Married to Paula with two daughters, Hallie & Hannah. |

Member of St. John Lutheran Church, Algonquin (NID-LCMS). Married to Kristie with two young children. Specialize in Enterprise Risk Management and Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance for Tenneco Inc. Bachelors in Finance from Purdue University in 1990 and enrolled in Seminary pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. Church positions held are: Deacon, Chairman of the Nominating Committee and Communion Assistant.
Involvement in civic organizations includes: World Vision, African Inland Missions International and Medical Assistant Programs International. Elected LCFS board member in 2007. |
